April 12, 1948 – April 25, 2019
Peggy Fern Claborn was born in Post, Texas, on April 12, 1948, and passed away at her home in Post on April 25, 2019.
Peggy grew up in Post, attended the Post schools, and graduated in 1966 when she began her life of careers, friends, family and adventures.
Peggy was always working…from her first job at Post’s Snak Shack, waitressing at Levi’s and Genez’s, factory meat-processing at Glover’s in Roswell, NM, to permit processing all over the country for Teledyne. Peggy habitually stayed with jobs until they bored her and would leave one before finding another; never worrying that she wouldn’t be able to find another job. Eventually, Peggy went to school in Aviation A&P Mechanics and worked for Garrett Aviation in Springfield, Illinois, for 22 years before retiring and returning to her hometown in Post.
Peggy was predeceased by her parents Ruby Haley Claborn and Fay Claborn, brothers Gene Claborn and Forrest Claborn. Peggy is survived by her sister Marie (Claborn) Anderson, sister-in-law Mary Lee Claborn (Gene), nieces Terry Blake, Vicki Anderson, Renee Claborn, Lisa Claborn Elmendorf, Belinda Claborn, Cindy Holloway, Monique Claborn Hendrix, Amanda Williams, nephews Jay Claborn, Lance Claborn and numerous grandnieces, grandnephews, aunts, cousins and friends.
Peggy lived life on her own terms and died on her own terms. She will be forever missed and continue to be an inspiration to this family for generations to come.
A memorial service will be held at Hudman Funeral Home at 301 West Main St., Post, TX, on Tuesday, April 30 at 2:00 p.m. Viewing and visitation will be family only.
