63, of Post died September
3, 2019. Services were
held Friday at 4:00PM in
the First Baptist Church of
Post, Tx. A visitation was
held Thursday, September
5, from 6-7:30PM at Hudman
Funeral Home.
Kevin was born January 1, 1956,
the first baby of the year to
Less and Betty Wright in
Carthage, Mo. He earned
a Bachelor of Science from
Oklahoma State University
in Range Management
in 1979 and worked
for USDA-NRCS for 38
years. He was a man of
faith, committed to serving
his community, his church
and the farmers and ranchers
of the South Plains as a
range conservationist. Over
the course of his career, he
served the counties of Borden,
Scurry, Garza, Motley,
Mitchell, Kent and Fisher.
He was an active member
and past president of the
Snyder Lions Club and was
the current president of the
Rotary Club in Post. He
served as a board member
of the White River Municipal Water
District. He served as
a past deacon at the First
Baptist Churches in Colorado
City and Snyder. He
was a current deacon of the
First Baptist Church in Post.
He is survived by his
wife of 35 years, Mary Ann
Norman Wright of Post,
4 daughters; Glyn McKay
(Richard) of Arlington,
Jordan Clements (Corbin)
of Ira, Sydney Wright of
Austin, and Averey Wright
of Arlington. His mother,
Betty Wright of Reed, Ok.
and sister, Barbara Gahagan
(Bruce) of Reed, Ok., three
grandchildren; Fletcher
Grady McKay, Isaac Richard
McKay, and Camryn
Jane Clements. He is preceded
in death by his father
Les Wright. He loved his
in-laws, nieces, nephews,
and their children as his own.
Pallbearers were Myron
Calley, Elliott Cox, Trent
Driggers, Doug Flanigan,
Max Jones, Glenn Killough,
David Norman and Greg
Sokora. Honorary Pallbearers
were Mickey Black and
the NRCS family and the
“NRA” Sunday School
Class at FBC Post.
