On Saturday December 14, 2019, the Garza County’s Golden Clover 4-H Club competed in the District 2 Consumer Decision Making Contest. All participants represented Garza County very well with Ana Thompson competing for the first time in the Junior Division. The Intermediate division, consisting of Brailey Nelson, Sylee Peterson, Rylie Tabor, and Joseph Thompson, took 1st place overall with Sylee also placing 1st individually. The Senior group consisting of Kalli Davis, Kelson Lee, Elizabeth Payton, and Trea Peterson capped off the day by placing all 4 members in the top 10 with Elizabeth in 3rd and Trea in 4th. The team also was in the top 8 in placing of classes with Trea taking 1st. This propelled Garza County into 1st place as a team, qualifying them for 4-H State Roundup in June. This will be Garza County’s first team to qualify for state since 2013.
