FLOYDADA – The Post Lady Lopes played Floydada Tuesday, Feb. 4. The Lady Lopes lost with a score of 36-30.
“The girls lost a close one,” Head Coach Keith Bloskas said.
Briley Miller led the team will 10 points followed by Jaylen Pittman with eight. Marti Cruse grabbed an impressive nine rebounds while both Pittman and Camryn Cowley had six. Miller additionally had three steals and Cruse had two.
The boys lost their game against the Whirlwinds as well with a score of 66-35.
Jayden Bustoz was the top scorer of the night with nine points followed closely by Taytem Thetford with eight. Bustoz also had the most rebounds with 10. Slayden Pittman, Holten Dickson and Thetford all contributed to the score with one three-pointer each.
RALLS – Thursday, Feb. 7, the Lady Lopes challenged the Ralls Lady Rabbits.
The Lady Lopes started the first quarter strong with 14 points to the Lady Rabbits’ nine. However, starting in the second quarter the Lady Rabbits took the reins, outscoring the Lady Lopes each quarter for a final score of 58-47.
The Antelopes, however, came out victorious against the Jackrabbits. Starting off with a close first and second quarter, the Antelopes came back out after halftime scoring 18 points to the Jackrabbits’ seven in both the third and fourth quarter. The Antelopes beat the Jackrabbits by an impressive 30 points, the final score being 67-37.
Bustoz had the most points with 10 followed by Thetford and Zach Courtney who both had eight points each. Thetford had two three-pointers that night adding to the Antelope’s impressive lead. Thetford led in rebounds with seven total. Courtney and Treyson Crow followed with four each.
Next, the Post Antelopes will play at New Deal. JV starts at 5 p.m. and Varsity starts at 6:15 p.m.
