On Saturday, Feb. 8, the Post-Garza County EMS held a blood drive in which they beat their donation goal yet again.
From 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., individuals could either set up an appointment or walk in to donate.
At 1:45 p.m., Post-Garza County took to Facebook to announce that the community had officially beat their set goal.
“We have officially beat our goal again,” the post read. “We are so blessed with an amazingly supportive community!”
The Post Volunteer Fire Department also recognized the community through Facebook saying, “Thank you all for donating.”
The goal given to the EMS by blood services was 21 units. The official number of units collected tipped the scales at 29.
“It’s no surprise that we beat the goal set forth for us once again,” EMT Fernanda Contreras said.
With 29 donations, the community of Post’s donations will help save numerous lives.
“It has always been said that one blood donation can save up to three lives,” Contreras said. “That’s 87 lives that you guys helped save.”
Post-Garza County EMS immensely thanks the community of Post for all their help in reaching the set goal.
“I don’t think that we can ever thank you all enough for always being so supportive towards us and the rest of the first responders,” Contreras said. “Thank you again!”
