On Feb. 5, Post residents woke up to a heavy blanket of snow covering the ground.
According to a preliminary storm report released by the National Weather Service, the Garza County Sheriff’s office reported at least two inches of snow at 12:45 a.m. By 7:09 a.m., the total depth had reached 4.5 inches, according to a co-op observer. At 10 a.m., the total had reportedly risen to 4.6 inches.
Post ISD, who had already moved up the previous night’s basketball games, cancelled school due to the inclement weather conditions. Additionally, Post restaurants, stores and businesses delayed opening due to the snowy streets.

The Winks showed off their impressive snow creations of a cow and horse that their son Kolton sculpted.
Many children were spotted outside enjoying the winter wonderland outside their very own front door. Snowmen, snow forts and even snow animals popped up around town throughout the day.
