Post volunteer firefighters were fitted for their new self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) masks Sunday, Feb. 23.
The Post Volunteer Fire Department said that these new masks will be a huge blessing that ensures every volunteer makes it home to their families safely.
In fact, every member of the Post Fire Department will receive their own mask to go with their gear.
“This will allow us to have enough masks and help keep from cross contamination,” the Post Volunteer Fire Department said, “but most of all these masks will protect us from all the harmful chemicals and carcinogens we’re exposed to when we respond.”
The fire department pays express gratitude to both the community and Chief Jimmy Valdez for the new advancements in the department.
“Big thanks for the support we are receiving,” The Post Volunteer Fire Department said, “and big thanks to our chief Jimmy Valdez for putting us and our safety first and bringing new light to the department!”
