On Friday, March 6, Post competed in the Whirlwind Relays with Floydada, Lockney, New Deal, Ralls and Tulia.
The Post Varsity Antelopes came in first with a total of 137 points. Behind them was Tulia with 128 points, Floydada with 123 points, New Deal with 121.5 points, Ralls with 80 points and Lockney with 14.5 points. The Post JV Antelopes also took first with 225 total points.
In the 100 meters, Nathan McDaniel took first with a new personal record of 11.32. Ethan Fox placed tenth with a personal record of 13.14 and Aldo Mendoza placed eleventh with a personal record of 13.26.
In the 220 meters, Taytem Thetford took first with a new personal record of 23.85. Nick Quintana placed second with a personal record of 23.91 and Slayden Pittman took eleventh with a season record of 27.17.
In the 400 meters, Maken Contreras took fifth with a new season record of 55.48. Holten Dickson placed sixth with a personal record of 56.40 and Zach Courtney placed seventh with a personal record of 57.56.
In the 800 meters, Michael Dean took fourth with a new personal record of 2:15.87. Maken Contreras took sixth with a season record of 2:22.39 and Holten Dickson took eight with a personal record of 2:31.15.
In the 1600 meters, Michael Dean took sixth with a new season record of 5:27.09.
In the 110-meter hurdles, Sterlin Self took seventh place with a new season record of 18.67. Dylan Greer placed twelfth with a seasonal record of 19.42.
In the 300-meter hurdles, Sterlin Self took eighth place with a new personal record of 45.72.
In the 4×100 relay, Post’s team, consisting of Krece Kirkpatrick, Ashton Jefferson, Taytem Thetford and Josiah Ward, took first with a time of 43.86.
In the 4×200 relay, Post’s team, consisting of Josiah Ward, Slayden Pittman, Ashton Jefferson and Nathan McDaniel, took first with a time of 1:35.23.
In the 4×400 relay, Post’s team, consisting of Krece Kirkpatrick, Ashton Jefferson, Taytem Thetford and Josiah Ward, took first with a time of 3:33.42.
In shot put, Taye Perez took third with a new seasonal record of 43-03.50. Jayden Bustoz placed fourth with a personal record of 41-04.50.
In discus, Taytem Thetford took second with a new season record of 130-03. Zach Courtney placed fourth with a personal record of 126-05 and Treyson Crow placed fifth with a personal record of 119-00.
In pole vault, Slayden Pittman took first with a new personal record of 11-00.00. Omar Lazcano placed fifth with a seasonal record of 8-06.00 and Nathan McDaniel placed fifth with a seasonal record of 8-06.00.
The Post Varsity Lady Lopes came in third with 74 points. In front of them was Tulia with 231 points and New Deal with 148 points. Following them was Floydada with 72 points, Lockney with 46 points and Ralls with 40 points. The Post JV Lady Lopes also came in third with 63 total points.
In the 100 meters, Marti Cruse took seventh with a new personal record of 14.34. Camryn Cowley placed tenth with a personal record of 15.04 and Jaylen Pittman placed thirteenth with a personal record of 15.61.
In the 200 meters, Briley Miller took fifth with a new personal record of 29.75. Bailey Tidwell placed eight with a seasonal record of 31.03 and Marti Cruse placed ninth with a season record of 31.35.
In the 400 meters, Kristin Tidwell took fifth with a new personal record of 1:11.10.
In the 800 meters, Cecilia Esparza took third with a new seasonal record of 2:37.54. Jacki Sanchez placed fourth with a seasonal record of 2:41.71 and Haley Lopez placed seventh with a seasonal record of 2:57.87.
In the 1600 meters, Jacki Sanchez took third with a new personal record of 6:10.22. Haley Lopez placed ninth with a seasonal record of 8:21.01.
In the 100-meter hurdles, Emma Thompson took second with a new seasonal record of 19.00.
In the 300-meter hurdles, Emma Thompson took fourth with a new seasonal record of 58.80.
In the 4×200 relay, Post’s team, consisting of Bailey Tidwell, Macee Rathbun, Laci Gonzalez and Briley Miller, placed second with a time of 1:55.13.
In the 4×400 relay, Post’s team, consisting of Laci Gonzalez, Cecilia Esparza, Kristin Tidwell and Macee Rathbun, placed second with a time of 4:29.93.
In shot put, Jaylen Pittman took sixth with a new personal record of 26-07.00.
In discus, Jaylen Pittman took fourth with a new personal record of 75-09. Jacey Redman placed sixth with a personal record of 74-09.
In high jump, Camry Cowley took seventh with a new personal record of 4-02.00.
In pole vault, Emma Thompson took fourth with a new seasonal record of 6-06.00.
Next, the Antelopes and Lady Lopes will compete at the Mean Green Relays in New Deal on March 13.
