Robert L. (Bobby) Terry, 86, of Post, Texas passed away April 13, 2020.
Due to the current situation with COVID19, private arrangements by the family have been made at the direction of Griffin Mortuary Funeral Home & Chapel.
Bobby was born January 26, 1934 in Garza County to Wade and Juanita (Hooter) Terry. He started school at Close City and graduated from Post High School in 1951. He married Juanita (Nita) Terry on June 5, 1955 in Lamesa, Texas. They lived in Post after they married. In 2019, they celebrated their 64th Anniversary. Bobby worked for George R. Brown Oil Company for 43 years. In the late 1960s, he bought the local Culligan Soft Water business and operated it for many years. He was also a member of the Post Volunteer Fire Department where he served for 50 years, eight months and two weeks. Bobby was an engaged member of his community giving generously of his time, energy and expertise to benefit his neighbors and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Nita; his sons Mark Terry and wife, Quenna of Lubbock and Brent Terry of Robert Lee; his brother, Freddie Mack Terry and wife, Jane; three grandchildren: Jesse Dean Terry of Lubbock and Cydni Chere and Casey Brent Terry of Loraine and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and caregivers at Slaton Care Center for the love and care they extended to Bobby.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Post Volunteer Fire Department.
