With quarantine restrictions being lifted and people starting to get more active, Cody and Cassie Marshall are doing their part to get kids out of the house.
On Saturday, May 30, Marshall’s Tack And Feed put on a playday for kids to come out and compete.
“Getting to watch the kids grow through the year has become our favorite event,” Marshall’s Tack and Feed Owner Cody Marshall said.
This was the first of a series of five Marshall’s Tack and Feed will be putting on this year. In fact, this will be the second year for the Marshall’s to host a playday.
This weekend 67 kids participated in four different age groups. Events included barrels, poles, flag race, goat tying and breakaway roping.
At the end of the series, the 1st place all around average winner will receive a saddle. Average event winners will receive a buckle. Additionally, every contestant will receive a buckle for their hard work and dedication.
The event is not short on support with nine sponsors helping to promote and support the series.
Sponsors include the Post Stampede Rodeo, Terry and Francis Morgan, Mike and Clarice Johnson, Brandon Burris, Canyon Valley Provisions, Tommy Henderson, McNelly Realty, Running M Reins and Papa D’s Ice Cream.
“This has been a blast for us,” Cody Marshall said.
Cody and Cassie Marshall are excited to keep this series going.
