The mannequin Eva waves at passersby from the driveway of Brad and Cynthia Mason’s home.
By Dakota McDonald/The Post Dispatch—
Editor’s note: This is one in an occasional series about ways Garza County residents are helping bring smiles to one another.
Many fun-loving people live in Garza County – those who are continually finding ways to put a smile on someone’s face.
And that has become especially evident during the past few months.
Meet Brad and Cynthia Mason. Since they have been homebound during the COVID-19 pandemic and could not wave at those passing by their home, they created a way to reach out while they stay in – use a mannequin. That’s right. And they named her.
Meet Eva.
Eva anchors the Mason’s driveway and waves to everyone passing by.
“She doesn’t talk back,” Brad joked.
Are wardrobe changes in Eva’s future? Probably so, Brad said. But for now, she needs some sunscreen and an ice-cold bottle of water.
There’s no better time to explore the backroads of Garza County while social distancing. Oh, the surprises that can be found!
Rain or shine, checkout the red lady joyfully waving to all.
