September 22, 1945 – July 7, 2020

JoAnn Williams, affectionally known as “G-Mom,” went to live with her Lord and Savior on July 7, 2020 at the age of 74.

JoAnn was born September 22, 1945 to parents, John and Elma Dean Mock. She married the love of her life, Lee Roy Williams on December 31, 1968 in Clovis, NM. Their 41 years of marriage were filled with laughter and love as they raised their family in Post, TX.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elma Dean; husband, Lee Roy; son JoDan Williams; sister Sunny Mock; and brother Buddy Mock.

She is survived by her children: Curtis Williams and wife Laura of Plains, TX; Kevin Williams and wife Trisha of Lubbock, TX; Sarah Hair and husband Codie of Lubbock, TX; and Charity Walker and husband Seth of Laramie, WY. In addition, G-Mom is survived by grandchildren who completely adored her: Jordan, Shelbey, Leigha, Bailey, Allie, Macey, Kamryn, Will, Grayson, Kolbie, and great-granddaughter, Madilynn, as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

JoAnn was a homemaker during the years that her children were home. Following those years, her career was in the restaurant business until she relocated with her family to Post, TX. She was an avid reader and taught in the First Baptist Church Christian School in Post where she shared her love of learning. Upon moving to Lubbock, she found her perfect job in a bookstore where she could soak up all the adventures, stories and history from the printed page. Her knowledge and love of books was woven into every aspect of her life. JoAnn also enjoyed watching all types of sports, from the stands, as well as on the screen. Though she loved them all, tennis was her favorite sport to follow.

G-Mom will be dearly missed and forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

A celebration of JoAnn’s life was held Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Post, TX. Burial followed in Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.
