Garza County sees first COVID-19 related death

As of Monday, July 13, Garza County totaled 18 Covid-19 cases since the first confirmed case on April 27. Eleven of the 18 are currently active while seven are recovered.
Garza County falls under the Region 1 Heath Department which is the health organization responsible for the tracing of positive cases in the area.
Surrounding counties also have seen an increase in totals:
Lubbock – 3,231 total, 1,740 active, 1,491 recovered, 58 deaths
Scurry – 90 total, 69 active, 21 recovered, 1 death
Lynn – 49 total, 16 active, 33 recovered, 1 death
Crosby – 32 total, 12 active, 20 recovered, 1 death
The Garza County Health Care District continues to urge the public to practice social distancing, hand washing and only going out for essential needs.
