Helen Gerner walked into the arms of Jesus on July 18, 2020. Her faith was strong, she loved the Lord with all her heart, and sang praises until the last moment. More than anything she wanted others to
know the relationship she had with Jesus.
Services for Helen were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Keith Garner officiating. Burial in Terrace Cemetery was under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. Visitation was from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
Helen was born on August 27, 1946 in Hereford, TX to A. T. (Buddy) and Kathleen (Stevick) Stowers. She was a graduate of Friona High School. She married Gerald Gerner on April 5, 1969 in Friona. Helen worked as a designer of window treatments and later as an office manager in the financial industry.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald Gerner of Post; one son, Karl and wife Missy Gerner of Slaton; two daughters, Tamra and husband Brandon Evans of Burleson and Kathy and husband Marcus Wall of
Lubbock; two brothers, Jackie and wife Peggy Stowers of Friona and Ken and wife Janice Stowers of Owasso, OK.; one sister, Sharon and husband Jeff McCormick of Pampa; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Karl Gerner, Kade Gerner, Marcus Wall, Brandon Evans, Todd Howell, Bryan McCormick, Gary Stowers and Trevor Stowers. Honorary pallbearers were Greg Stowers, Jeff McCormick, Michael McCormick and Scott Gerner.
