Only 43.6 percent of Garza County households have responded to the 2020 Census, according to data recorded by the Texas Demographic Center.
This is a 16.9-percent decrease from the 2010 final self-response rate of 60.5 percent.
The U.S. Census Bureau and local county and city officials encourage everyone to respond before the Sept. 30 data collection deadline.
“The Census is an important tool for Congress to appropriate funds to cities and counties based on population,” County Judge Lee Norman said. “These numbers support many programs that help all citizens. Please take the time to file your Census forms. They are very easy to complete.”
To respond, visit 2020census.gov, call 844-330-2020, or mail in the paper form that was delivered to the addressed household.
