Wrapping up non-district play, quarterback Slayden Pittman ran for 67 yards, threw for 18 and amassed three touchdowns to assist undefeated Post in thrashing longtime rival Slaton 46-7 Friday night in the war on 84.
Ashton Jefferson, who finished with 146 yards on the ground, ran for seven yards to give the Antelopes an early lead of 7-0.
Capping off the first quarter with a score of 21-0, Pittman nabbed his first touchdown of the night, running one yard with a good PAT.
While Post slowed down scoring in the second, the Tigers avoided a shutout with Zephron Ortiz chipping in an 8-yard touchdown and Tae Thompson completing a PAT for a halftime score of 21-7.
Tacking on two more touchdowns and one PAT in the third, Slayden Pittman ran for 1 yard and again for 5, bringing the Antelopes’ edge to 34-7.
Scoring on the third play in the fourth, Jefferson ran for 3 yards, and with a good PAT by Pittman, and the Antelopes were up 41-7.
Toppling into the endzone and polishing off the Antelopes’ victory, Aldo Mendoza ran for 9 yards for a final of 46-7.

Helping keep the Tigers to 166 yards of total offense was Mendoza with 12 assisted tackles, Steven Huff with eight assisted tackles and one solo tackle and Isaiah Crawford, Avery Clarkson and Shawn Looney with eight total tackles each.
Next, the Post Antelopes challenge the Sundown Roughnecks, kicking off district play at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 9, at the Jimmy Redman Memorial Stadium.
