After a tough loss to Klondike, the Lady Lopes regained their stamina, overpowering Ropes in five sets of 22-25, 25-16, 25-19, 18-25 and 15-9.
“Laci was everywhere in defense,” Coach Stephanie Jenkins said. “She was covering behind blocks, digging up balls in the back row and getting to tips in the middle of the floor. She really has the ability to see the shot coming and be there for it.”
Briley Miller also chipped in on back row, leading the team with 12 kills and 11 service points.
Jaylen Pittman chipped in seven kills and 19 service points alongside Aneliz Alaniz who nabbed 19 service points and Camryn Cowley who amassed 11 service points.
“As a team we continued to be aggressive in our offense,” Jenkins said. “Early in the set we were struggling to keep the ball in bounds. But the girls continued to work to correct those mistakes and pulled out a big win.”
Next, the Lady Lopes take on Aspermont at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 3, in Aspermont.
