Post Elementary School students have been on the hunt for coins, even going into their own piggy banks in order to raise money for the school’s annual Penny Wars.
In the two-week fundraising competition, students competed by grade level to collectively raise $1,637.41 which will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.
“I think the kids have cleaned out every piggy bank, couch, vehicle and pocket they could find,” Post Elementary Educator Crystal Osborn said.
Winning classrooms were Mrs. Scott in pre-kindergarten, Mrs. Young in kindergarten, Ms. Oden in first grade, Mrs. Short in second grade, Mrs. Graves in third grade, Mrs. Gilliland in fourth grade and Mrs. Reiter in fifth grade.
