Leah Moreno recorded double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 12 rebounds to lead the Lady Lopes in their 47-51 battle against Ralls last Tuesday.
Assisting Moreno was Briley Miller who nabbed another seven baskets for 14 points and Laci Gonzales who defensively held the Lady Rabbits to keep the score close.
“Laci was a defensive standout by holding off Ralls’ best offensive player to three points,” Head Coach Jamie Jenkins said.
Falling to Roosevelt by a difference of 20 points on Saturday, the Lady Lopes only scored 26 points to the Eagles 46 for a season record of 3-2.
“We played great the first half and were only down by two points,” Jenkins said. “But, in the second half, we just had a hard time hitting shots and free throws.”
Next, the Lady Lopes challenge Olton at the Antelope Arena at 6:15 p.m., Friday, Dec. 11.
“Our goal to continue to practice and get better,” Jenkins said. “These girls work extremely hard every day to continue to improve.”
