With state Rep. Drew Springer, R-Muenster, recently winning a promotion to the Texas Senate to replace Sen. Pat Fallon who is on his way to Congress, early voting to fill Springer’s House District 68 seat is set to kick off on Monday, Jan. 11.
Springer’s House District 68, which covers the counties of Childress, Collingsworth, Cooke, Cottle, Crosby, Dickens, Fisher, Floyd, Garza, Hall, Hardeman, Haskell, Jack, Kent, King, Montague, Motley, Stonewall, Throckmorton, Wheeler, Wilbarger and Young, is safely Republican.
On the ballot, voters can expect to see candidates John Berry, a former Jack County Commissioner, Jason Brinkley, a resigning Cooke County judge, and David Spiller, a Jacksboro attorney and Jacksboro ISD trustee.
Garza County residents can cast early ballots weekdays, Jan. 11 through 19, 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the clerk’s office on the first floor of the Garza County Courthouse located at 300 W. Main St.
