The Sanderson Ranch hosted its seventh annual veteran’s hunt in collaboration with the Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Skills4Life program which provides support for the nation’s combat wounded service members through recreational activities like hunting.
“It’s always an honor to be able to host this event,” Sanderson Ranch owner Bruce Sanderson said. “To be able to provide an opportunity for these soldiers to get out and enjoy the outdoors means as much to all of us as it does to them. Everyone involved always has a great time and looks forward to this hunt each year.”
Veterans involved included David Daugherty from San Antonio, Anthony Dobresnski from Benton, Texas, Noah Mutrie from Winston-Salem, N.C., Daniel Robles from San Antonio, Lee Sage from Crowley and Ben Stepp from Belsen, Miss.
Hunting guides included Ryan Coles, Adrian Gonzales, Tommy Gonzales, Lane Jones, Daniel Redman, Danny Robertson, Bob Self, Michaela Self, Shane Swinford and Buddy Thompson.
Those sponsoring the hunt included Billie Redman, Brady’s Package Store, Christina Jones, CISCO Equipment, Crown Royal, Crown Unlimited, Dark Horse Metal Works, D&D Well Service, Devin Warrick, Dominica Redman, Greg Smith, Lone Star Shooting Sports, Mandi Thompson, Matt Hamel Ag Products, MTC-Giles W. Dalby Correctional Facility, Noyes Pool and Spa, Paul Gene’s, Ranch King Hunting Blinds, Rock Solid Solutions, Spur Church of Christ Ladies and Will and Cody Shaffer.
“We certainly couldn’t do it without all of the volunteers and support from all of our sponsors,” Sanderson said. “It’s greatly appreciated.”
