The Garza County Golden Clover Club decorated Valentine’s Day cookies for the Post Nursing and Rehabilitation Center residents at the recent Feb. 8 meeting.
Members also discussed the March community service project involving Post Animal Refuge Center.
Through March 27, Garza County 4-H will be accepting toys, canned dog food, puppy chow and treats at drop off locations including the Garza County Courthouse, 300 W. Main St., Texas Agrilife Extension Office, 215 W. Main St., Family Cleaners, 111 W. Main St., United Supermarkets, 123 N. Broadway St., and Dollar Tree, 217 E. Main St.
Members will drop off donated items at the next meeting on March 27.
Additionally, multiple 4-H members are competing at major stock shows and putting in a good showing for Garza County. The Jan. 16 Garza County Junior Livestock Show was also a success for many 4-H members.
Enrollment for the 2020-21 year is ongoing. Current members and those interested in joining are encouraged to sign up by contacting the extension office at 806-495-4400 and attending the next meeting.
The county also has a new website, garza.agrilife.org, where 4-H information and photos will be posted.
The club’s next meeting will be held at 9 a.m., March 27 at the extension office. All are welcome to attend.
Twelve members and six adult leaders were in attendance on Feb. 8.
