In Post, the average price of gas has increased by 54 cents per gallon since Feb. 3, with Stripes and Allsup’s prices hitting $2.79 per gallon for regular unleaded and $3.19 per gallon for diesel at press time. Lubbock, on the other hand, is averaging $2.51 per gallon.
Drivers in Texas are seeing the most expensive statewide gas pump price averages since 2019, according to AAA Texas. Moving forward, AAA forecasts the national gas price average to hit at least $2.80 during March. For motorists, that means they can expect continued increases of at least 5–10 cents in local markets until refinery operations are stable.
Regardless, higher gas prices will continue to have an impact on consumers’ pockets.
