Lee W. “Bud” Davis was born July 16, 1934 and entered the kingdom on March 28, 2021.
Bud Davis was born to Lee and Estelle Davis in Post, Texas. He married the love of his life and forever soul mate, Alta Jane Prichard, on Dec. 29, 1955. Bud was born and raised in Post, graduated from Texas Tech University and served in the Marine Corp Reserve. He dedicated 36 years to the Post Independent School District as a teacher, coach and principal.
Bud is survived by his four daughters, Carol Williams of Post, Christy Ratheal and husband Randy of Lubbock, Leanna Davis of San Antonio and Cathy Cook and husband Tim of Post; grandchildren, Luke Williams and wife Laura of Roanoke, Laura Powell and husband Logan of Lubbock, and Michael Ratheal of Lubbock; great-grandchildren Katelyn and Mason Williams of Roanoke and Caroline Jane and Jack Powell of Lubbock. Bud was loved and will be remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing games, fishing, hunting, golfing and giving people a hard time. Bud was known for organizing annual family quail hunts, fishoramas, Wednesday Night Supper Club and Christian men’s fellowship breakfast. He was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church and an avid Bold Gold Football fan.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 5, 2021 at Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Garza County Trailblazers or the Post-Garza County Endowment Scholarship Fund.
