Antelopes hold onto victory as Hale Center attempts to erase five-run deficit

With a five-run lead in the fifth inning, the Antelopes were able to hold on for a 10-9 victory over Hale Center on Tuesday, April 6 as the Owls scored three runs in a failed comeback.
Boosted by Will Fairbanks who went five-for-five at the plate, singling in the first, second, fourth and fifth inning and doubling in the seventh, the Antelopes pulled away for an early lead in the second. Singling on a 1-1 count for one run, Fairbanks was followed by Krece Kirkpatrick, who doubled on a 2-2 count for one run and Javen Diaz, who singled on a 1-2 count for one run.
Notching an additional three runs in the fourth inning, big bats were led by Kirkpatrick and Nathan McDaniel, who both drove runs in the inning.
Pitching, Fairbanks surrendered eight runs on 11 hits over five innings, striking out one.
Treyson Crow, Diaz, Fairbanks, Kirkpatrick and Jacob McClellan each managed multiple hits to aid in tallying the Antelopes’ 18. Kirkpatrick and Fairbanks led the way with five hits each.
The Antelopes (2-12) challenged the Olton Mustangs on Tuesday, April 6. Results were unavailable at press time.
