Sales tax revenue losses reflect February weather

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced the April sale tax allocations are trending less than the same time last year. April payments made to cities reflect sales for February 2021.

A total net payment of $436,043,829 for cities this period represents a -2.67 percent change over the same time last year.

A week of sub-freezing temperatures in February followed by a local eight-day water crisis took a toll on retail sales in Post.
