The Post Antelopes blew away Floydada in an easy 13-3 victory on Tuesday, April 13, pulling away with four runs in the second inning to secure the win.
Contributing to the runaway inning was Treyson Crow, who singled on a 1-2 count, allowing Javen Diaz to score one run, and Jacob McClellan and Will Fairbanks, who each scored on an error.
Notching another five runs in the third, batters Crow, Fairbanks, Krece Kirkpatrick and McClellan all sent runners across the plate with RBIs.
Pitching, Nathan McDaniel lasted six innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out 11.
Helping the Antelopes rack up 12 hits on the day was Crow, Diaz, Fairbanks, Shawn Looney and McClellan, who all managed two hits each to lead. Kirkpatrick led in stolen bases, snagging two of the Antelopes’ eight.
Picking up play on Saturday, April 17, the Antelopes took a 10-3 loss to Lockney, falling behind with a four-run deficit as soon as the first inning.
To secure their lead even further, Lockney scored an additional six runs in the seventh inning.
On the hill, Brody Molnoskey allowed four hits and five runs over six innings, striking out six. Diaz and Crow entered the game as relief, throwing two-thirds of an inning and one-third of an inning respectively.
At the plate, Looney went two-for-four to lead in hits. He also stole four of the Antelopes’ six bases.
The Antelopes (4-14) challenged Crosbyton on Tuesday, April 20. Results were unavailable at press time.
