City council unanimously approves separation agreement with City Manager Deana Smith; City Secretary Meg Nelson to serve interim

The Post City Council met Thursday, April 22 in a special-called meeting with only four items on the agenda, two of which required convening into executive session.

The first item on agenda, occurring during executive session, was to consult with City Attorney Slater Elza to seek legal counsel under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct under Code §551.071. This code allows for a.) private consultation when a governmental body seeks advise regarding pending or contemplated litigation or b.) a settlement offer.

The second item on the agenda was to deliberate the appointment, employment, compensation, evaluation, reassignment duties, discipline or dismissal of a public officer pursuant to Texas Government Code §551.074 (City Manager). This code is a.) to deliberate the employment of public officer or employee or 2.) to hear a complaint or charge against an officer of employee.
