Fernanda Vera of Post recently was named Emergency Medical Technician of the Year by EMS of the South Plains. Fernanda has worked as an EMT since July 2017 and was nominated by Rodney Tidwell, Post- Garza County EMS director. The award is presented to the EMT who has excelled in the areas of patient care, service to their EMS organization, service to the community and service the EMS of the South Plains Region.
Rodney Tidwell said, “Maria Fernanda Vera has been an EMT for three years. She has always shown a strong work ethic and strives to always do the best. She works very well with all crew members and brings a special enthusiasm to the service that is contagious.
