Rain pours down on Memorial Day in Post

Early morning thunderstorms dropped enough rain to cancel the annual Memorial Day services at the courthouse Monday morning.

The National Weather Service in Lubbock reported rainfall totals for Post at 2.03 inches as of Monday afternoon.

Mesonet sites reading for the area at 4 p.m. on Monday reported Lake Alan Henry at 3.81 inches and Graham at 2.82 inches.

Adding the heavy Memorial Day traffic, Post experienced the usual problem intersections full of water. The NWS issued flood warnings for low-water areas.
