If you love vintage, farmhouse and antiques you do not want to miss the Grand Opening this weekend of The Blue Rooster Antiques.
The new business, at 201 East Main Street, is the brainchild of Susan McDonald. McDonald and her husband George have been coming to Post since the 2012. In 2017 they moved here permanently from Bluff Dale, Texas where Susan owned The Antique Station, housed in an old gas station.
McDonald says she has been collecting and selling antiques since the mid-1990s after attending her first antique auction. What started as a hobby, has turned into a business venture.
It takes a special set of skills to master the art of antiquing—skills that are developed by research, practice in the field, patience, and training your eye to recognize quality. In other words, it takes time to learn the ropes, and even experts are always looking to expand their knowledge. McDonald has taken the time and effort involved to create a unique shopping experience.
