Saturday brought the first downtown Farmer’s Market to Main Street. Sponsored by the Post Area Chamber of Commerce the market will be held the first and third Saturdays through September.
Although the vendors were limited on Saturday the event has potential for growth since recent rains in the area have caused setbacks for vegetable growers in the area. The June 19 market is shaping up to be vegetable lover’s paradise with offerings of squash and zucchini. Donna Cowdrey of 7C6 Farms said they are hoping to offer carrots at the next market.
Several people walking up and down Main Street could choose from fresh herbs, dried herbs, and organic room sprays. If you needed fresh eggs, look no further, only $3.00 a dozen, (50 cents off if you have your own container).
