Services for Jessie Soto Sr. ,65, of Post were held June 23, 2021, at the PISD Auditorium with Pastor Rafael Ramos and Bro. Cruz Soto officiating. Burial in Terrace Cemetery was
under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.

Jessie died on June 20, 2021, at his home in Post. He was born to George and Isabel Soto on May 20, 1956, in the family home in Post. He was the 18th of 19 children. Jessie was united in marriage to Lydia Gutierrez on December 22, 1972, in Post. Jessie and Lydia had four sons. He provided for his family by working in the Texas oilfield until March 13, 1991, when he was in a rig accident leaving him paralyzed.
In his spare time, Jessie enjoyed playing softball and after his accident, he continued enjoying softball and baseball as he cheered on his kids and grandkids. He had a passion for anything automotive. If he wasn’t at a game or in the garage, he could be found watching
western movies or playing jokes on loved ones.

Jessie is survived by his wife Lydia of Post, sons, Ruben and wife Stacey Soto and Jessie Soto Jr. both of Post and James Soto of Del Rio, as well as seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by five sisters: Patsy Gutierrez of Dumas, Juana Serrano of Purcell, OK,  Anasticia Tarrango of Post, Vicenta Golden of Hamlin and Julia Gomez of Post and four brothers: Cruz Soto of Marble Falls, Juan Soto of Amarillo, Gregorio Soto Jr. of Oklahoma and Patricio Soto of Lubbock as well as a number of nieces and nephews and his sidekick, Tiki, that never left his side.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Robert and eight siblings.
