Garza County County/District Clerk Jim Plummer submitted a letter to Commissioner’s Court on Monday announcing his retirement effective December 31, 2021.
Plummer was elected County Clerk in the general election in November 2006. He was sworn into office on January 1, 2007. He is currently in his fourth term and leaves one year before his term completed.
Commissioners Court will immediately begin a search to complete Plummer’s unexpired term. The person appointed by the commissioners’ court must meet the qualifications for the office at the time of appointment, including being a registered voter of the territory from which the office is elected. Tex. Elec. Code §141.001.
