The approval of a medical service agreement between the Garza County Sheriff’s Office and Angela Hanaway was one of the items on Garza County official agenda when they met in regular session on Monday, July 26. The contract with Hanaway is to provide comprehensive healthcare services for residents housed at the jail. The new contract will pay $3,000 to Hanaway for services provided. She will replace Sarah Hite who also had a similar agreement with the county.
Commissioners also approved new out of county jail housing contracts for Martin and Taylor counties. The new contracts effective on Oct. 1 will charge $55 per day and does not include the cost of transportation.
