After falling to Idalou 3-0 last Monday in the season opener, the Lady Lopes lost to Coahoma 3-2 last Tuesday afternoon in the first game of a dual at home. The Lady Lopes won the first two sets in that match, but after suffering a 25-9 3rd set loss, the Lady Lopes struggled to find a lead in the following sets. Post lost the 4th set 25-23, and then they lost the 5th set 15-13.
The Lady Lopes won their first game of the season Tuesday night against Lamesa 3-1 in the second game of their dual. After Lamesa won the first set 25-22, Post took the next three sets, winning each set by at least 9 points. Post then hit the road Thursday night to visit Olton. The Lady Lopes swept the Fillies in three sets, evening out their overall record at 2-2.
This past Tuesday, the Lady Lopes played in a dual against Benjamin and Newcastle at Benjamin. The Lady Lopes will play in the Graham Tournament August 20-21. On Friday, Post will play four pool play games. The Lady Lopes will play Graham at 9 a.m., Wichita Christian at 12 p.m., Nocona at 2 p.m., and Midland Greenwood at 5 p.m. In next week’s edition, The Post Dispatch will recap the games from the dual and all results from the Graham Tournament, including Saturday’s bracket results.
