Garza County Commissioners met Monday, Aug. 23 with the first item on the agenda the Public Hearing on the Proposed Budget.
Judge Norman confirmed the proposed tax rate for the county will remain at $0.7727 for the upcoming year Norman said, “Even though the certified tax values for 2021 are lower than in previous years county offices have been able to hold expenses to meet the proposed budget. The county has a 7.5% increase on health insurance this upcoming year.”
Commissioners have discussed budget figures and tax rates at various times over the past month and unanimously voted to accept the proposed budget of $10,009,245 and tax rate of $0.7727 for the upcoming fiscal year.
