TUSCOLA-The season opener proved too tough for the Post Bold Gold Antelopes (0-1) as they fell victim to a shutout from fellow 2A D1 opponent Tolar Rattlers (1-0) 48-0. With vengeance on their minds after last season’s humiliating 70-14 loss, Tolar showed no mercy from the get-go, and the young Antelopes struggled to find an answer throughout the game.

After an even 0-0 1st quarter, Tolar took off in the 2nd quarter, scoring 21 points in that quarter from two passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown.

Tolar’s motivation from last season led the Rattlers to add more insult to injury in the 4th quarter, as they scored three more touchdowns to hammer in the final nail in the coffin. While Tolar had a much more balanced offense than anticipated and an effective run game, the Rattlers still capitalized off their Air Raid attack, completing four passing touchdowns in the game.
