Fish are schooling up so use depth finders to locate. Fish with jigs and earthworms. Crappie are good on minnows seeking out the structures. Catfish are fair on live bait, cut bait and stink bait. Hubbard Creek – GOOD. Water clear; 81 degrees; 0.30 feet low. Shad are plentiful and easily found on just about any wind blown main lake point in 15-25 feet of water. White bass very active topwater bite on main lake points and around tanglewood islands. Try rooster tail baits in white and chartreuse. Channel catfish are good in 4-10 feet of water using stinkbait fishing baited holes around stickups/cattails. Fish crappie using a light road runner style jig flung under docks with ample shade as well as working bridge pilings. Many bass anglers are catching fish around hydrilla. Water clear and should offer excellent bowfishing opportunities. Be safe this holiday weekend.
Oak Creek – FAIR. Water lightly stained; 78 degrees; 4.00 feet low. Summer fishing patterns persist. Largemouth bass remain good at first light with topwater. Moving to structures like boulders, fallen timber, and flooded vegetation with Texas rigged worms, crankbait, and jigs. Crappie are good on live minnows suspended and jigs moving through and under structure. White bass are fair in deep parts of the lake. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers, live bait, and cut bait. Possum Kingdom – FAIR. Water slightly stained; 82 degrees; 0.00 lake level. Fish have been biting in water depths 15-35 feet. Striper fishing has slowed to fair with top water action using live bait and topwaters. Bass are good on top water along shorelines. Catfish have been good on cut bait. Be safe this holiday weekend.
White River – FAIR. Water stained; 87 degrees; 19.44 feet low. Summer fishing patterns remain consistent to weeks past. Largemouth bass continue to be fair deep using rocks, vegetation, and drops fishing minnows, bumping worms, jigs, and crankbait. Crappie are fair on jigs or minnows above vegetation and in structures less than 7 feet. Success reported in the after dark when the lights come on. Walleye are good on minnows. Channel Catfish are good on dough bait, and minnows on the bottom. Be safe this holiday weekend.
