U.S. Representative Jodey Arrington met with a group of Garza County citizens where he spoke candidly about the issues faced day in and day out, as well as what they face moving forward.
“It’s’ been ‘wild-and-wooly’ being in the minority, but I think it’s important we work together, or we won’t survive,” Arrington said.
The congressman, who represents the 19th District of Texas told the group, “It’s always great to visit my friends in Post,” said Rep. Arrington. “They are deeply concerned for our country and the bankrupt, socialist policies of President Joe Biden and Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The Democrat leadership has initiated one self-inflicted crisis after another from the border to their economic policies, to foreign affairs. Our country can’t take much more of this incompetence. I will continue to fight back on the Left’s agenda to rob us of our freedoms and give more control to Washington bureaucrats and politicians “
Rep. Arrington went on to say, “I want to be clear: President Biden and Vice President Harris have utterly failed to fulfill their sacred constitutional duty to ‘faithfully execute the laws of the land’ and ‘provide for a common defense’. The Biden Administration have enabled an enormous human and drug trafficking operation, as well as a massive flow of gangs and criminals into our country, making a mockery of our laws, our Constitution, and our sovereignty.
The Trump administration had a plan in place to draw down troops in Afghanistan. The current administration merely retreated and withdrew leaving military assets for the Taliban and the loss of 13 soldiers”.
Rep. Arrington touched on the Covid bailout, Farm Bill, Social Security, Voter ID, minimum wage, and infrastructure. Reiterating the fact if citizens don’t like the direction the country is headed now the only alternative is for the Republicans to take back control of the House and Senate in 2022.
Those attending had the opportunity to visit with Rep. Arrington one-on-one and express their concerns.
“Jodey has proven his heart is in Texas and he speaks up for us in Washington,” said Garza County Judge Lee Norman. “He reaches out to us in West Texas because he believes in us.”
