The red-hot Post Lady Lopes (17-11 Overall, 6-1 District) are rolling through District 3 as they approach the halfway point in district play. After they lost in a close battle with the Plains Cowgirls back on Sept. 14, Post has won four straight district contests.
Last Tuesday, Sept. 21, the Lady Lopes hosted the then district-leading Klondike Lady Cougars, who are 4-2 in district as of Tuesday, Sept. 28. In stunning fashion, Post swept Klondike in three sets, winning the 1st set 25-23, the 2nd set 25-13, and the 3rd set 25-21. Laci Gonzales had 12 service points, having a 6-point service run in the 1st set, and a 5-point service run in the 2nd set. Jaylen Pittman had eight kills and five service points, including four aces. Shayla Brown also had eight kills and nine service points.
On Saturday, Sept. 25, Post traveled to Ropesville to play the up-and-coming Ropes Lady Eagles, who are 3-3 in district play as of Sept. 28. In an extremely close game, Post held off Ropes and won in five sets 3-2. Ropes took the 1st set 25-20, then Post took the 2nd set 25-18. Ropes responded back by taking the 3rd set in a close 25-23 set. Post came surging back, and took the last two sets 25-19 and 15-8 respectively.
Tuesday, Sept. 28, Post started a three-game homestead against the Wellman-Union Lady Cats. The Lady Lopes crushed Wellman-Union in 3 sets. Post won 25-17, 25-11, and 25-19 respectively. Pittman led the team with 12 kills and 12 service points, including 2 aces.
The Lady Lopes will host the Aspermont Lady Hornets tomorrow, Oct. 2 at 11 am at Antelope Arena to start the second half of District 3 play. Post beat Apsermont last time around on Sept. 7 in Aspermont 3-0.
