IcanseethecarsgoingupanddownMain Street from my desk at the Post Dispatch. It is very different than when I was a kid making the drag. Back in the day, the middle of the street was wide open for parking from either side. This was handy when all the kids would sit inthemiddleofthestreeton summer nights. Well, really, any time of the year that we wanted to visit. That was back when there was no social media. You had to go to town and talk face-to-face with your friendstokeepupwithwhat was going on. Yes, we had telephones, but theywereconnectedtothewallofyourhouse. Therefore,ifyouwantedtojoininthefunyou had to go to town.
