Knowing that Garza County has a well-coordinated emergency system in place to respond swiftly can provide much-needed reassurance, whether it’s a sudden illness, a severe injury, or any medical emergency. From the moment the call is made to 911, the dispatchers spring into action, mobilizing the necessary resources.

EMS is an integral part of health care and is especially important in Garza County. The Post-Garza County EMS responded to 838 calls during 2023 and 76 callouts in January 2024. The odds of a woman on each call are over 50%. EMS has 27 people on its roster, 15 of whom are women.
