Dear Editor, What has happened to “Keep America Beautiful”? There is no pride in America today, no one cares. Have you driven out to Green Tank or the roadside park on top of the caprock off Hwy 84? What do you see? Both have become trash dumps. The amount of trash did not accumulate overnight.

A community newspaper’s work is never done. The parent company that owns The Post Dispatch, Hicks Media, graciously gave us Monday off since New Year’s fell on Sunday. And as grateful as I am for the extra day out, it’s a MONDAY! THE BUSIEST DAY OF THE WEEK FOR THE DISPATCH!

I am sitting in the office the day after Christmas working on this week’s paper edition and people-watching. My desk is the perfect place to people- watch. Downtown may be abandoned but across the street is McDonald’s and the parking lot has been full since 8:30 a.m.
