O. B. Kelly came to this part of the country in 1892, and anyone old enough to have parents or grandparents who were here in the early days of Garza County would know this man. He was the first sheriff in Garza County when it wasestablishedin 1907. Kelly came westward from Hamilton, Mills, and Fisher counties.
