The macronutrient group of the essential elements nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium was discussed in last week’s column. This week focuses on micronutrients that are also essential for optimum growth and development but are needed by plants in smaller (micro) quantities. Elements in the micronutrient group are boron, chlorine, copper, iron, manganese, molybdenum, nickel and zinc.
