AUSTIN, TX – June 12th is Women Veterans Day, commemorating the day President Harry Truman signed the bill enabling women to serve as permanent, regular members of the U.S. Armed Forces on June 12, 1948.

I have had the honor of looking back in the old Post Dispatch papers of the 1940’s the last few days. I was trying to find all the men that fought in World War II. This is an unbelievable time in history. I started in 1942, just after Pearl Harbor and the U.S.
