This Week at Southland ISD

Friday, January 13 – Varsity Basketball – Both girls and boys will play Petersburg at home. Girl’s game starts at 5:00 pm and Boys will follow. Saturday, January 14 – Garza County Stock Show – Students from all of Garza County will start showing their animals at 8:00 a.m.

PHS graduates recognized at SPC

Three students from Post were honored for their high academic achievements by being named to the Dean’s and President’s lists during the fall 2022 semester at South Plains College. Javontavious Ward was named to the President’s List.

This Week at School

I have certain cookie recipes I use over and over. But for some reason, I tend to think I will always be able to improve on chocolate chip or chocolate chunk cookies. So I do experiment a bit.

The other afternoon I was going home from Main Street to the north of Hwy. 84. I saw three gas prices, all different. The first thing that went through my old mind was, “Gas War”. When I first got my driver’s license, there were gas wars all the time.

The Heirloom Kitchen

During the holidays, I like to have ingredients on hand such as apple cider to create a mulled cider with. And I usually have other ingredients leftover that I may not often keep, such as heavy cream.
