Garza County Judge Lee Norman and Warden Rick Martinez, representing MTC and Giles W. Dalby Correctional Facility, signed a new agreement with the Texas Commission of Jail Standards last week. The new agreement will allow the prison to expand to 1,024 inmates.
Initially, TCJS only allowed 835 inmates in the re-opening of the facility. TCJS requires one correctional officer for every 48 inmates.
