What started as an annual brisket dinner for the Post band booster parents on homecoming night turned into a real big deal barbecue. “Dick spent several days and nights cooking multiple pits full of briskets for the event for the seven years our kids were in band,” said Shellee Odom, an owner of Smokin’ Dick’s Barbecue (SDB). “He even volunteered a few years after.”
